Cock and CrownNewest Review: ... - I don't mind as I prefer to be full and sober rather than drunk and starving! The Venue ~~~~~~~ The Cock and Crown is VERY popular and this is reflected in the car park always being busy. However ample parking is available and we have never had trouble finding a space. On entering the pub you are met with a very welcoming and comfortable environment. The décor is traditional with lots ... more |

I love to cook! On my days off there is something incredibly soothing and de-stressing about concocting a culinary delight to tantalise the taste buds. However, I cook Indian, I cook Chinese, I cook Mexican, I even dabble with Itallian! I do not cook English. I just don't! I'm not really sure why... I suppose on reflection it's the hassle and mess. It generally requires numerous pots and pans and a vast amount of soaked in grease! So if I want good old English nosh then I eat out...saves on the washing up! So when I'm feeling lazy I head to The Cock and Crown, Wakefield. What is the Cock and Crown? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Cock & ... Read the complete review

You only have to see how full the car park is at any time a sure sign of good food and good value. We visit the Cock and Crown quite regularly and the carvery is unbelievable for £3.50 with a great choice of meat and vegetables.
It now opens at 11am to cater for the customers and serves food until 9pm.
You have to try it to believe it, there is no where in our area to compare with it.

Went to the Cock and Crown yesterday evening 23/05 and was very pleasantly surprised at the food - plentiful, well cooked , plenty of variety and at the right price. The cost of the drinks that we had was very modest as well - well done Brewers Fayre and a special thanks to the Landlord of the Cock and Crown for giving my family and I a lovely evenong out. We will certainly be coming agian and that is a certainty.

Staff, rude, ignorant and scruffy. Dont go if you have a disibility of any kind as the staff like to mock and make fun. I am a support worker in west yorkshire and after taking clients there for lunch, we had to leave as they became so distressed from staff making nasty comments, and sniggering. The Cock and Crown is a friendly, family pub / restaraunt on the outskirts of Wakefield near the village of Crofton. We go there a lot when we fancy a pub meal, because not only is the grub great, the atmosphere is easy going, the staff friendly and the location delightful. You can eat in the main part of the pub, or in the family section and there are designated no smoking areas. Thereare 'slot machines' for the kids, a playarea with toys and duplo building blocks and outside there is a playground for the kids. Occasionally in summer they even have a bouncy castle. There is a delightful balcony overlooking the children's playarea ... Read the complete review
