This is the third pub in a series opinions telling of my short pub crawl around 5 Brighton pubs / bars. If you wish to read the whole series please read my opinion on the Font and Firkin first. ***************************************** After leaving O'Neils we found the Cricketers. The pub looks very small when you enter, but apparently there is an upstairs and more room out the back, but we never ventures that far and sat down on some large chairs in the window. (Although these chairs looked comfortable and relaxing, they made you sit bolt upright). There was modern music quietly in the background, I was al little disappointed when Hear Say and S Club 7 were played, it spoiled an otherwise pleasant pub but I guess you cant have everything! The average age in the pub was definitely older than the others we had been to and it was very traditionally decorated but it was a nice pub. The bar staff were quite friendly, some more than others. My mate bought a cigar and asked if they had a lighter, the barmaid said you’ll have to buy a box of matches, on hearing this the other barmaid came over and handed him her lighter. There was a better selection of bitter in this pub, charlotte ordered a tap water (she was driving) and they added ice, lime and straws which is a lot more than most pubs would bother with. Prices: Pint of Best £2.35 JD & coke £2.40 There was a fruit machine in the corner, but as I mentioned earlier there was a lot more to the pub that we didn't see so there was probably more there. After leaving the Cricketers we went to the Druids Head. Please rate this opinion and go to my Druids Head opinion :o)
