On walking into the pub
On walking into the pub you are instantly greeted with the seating area around the sides of the pub. In the middle of the pub you have a standing area, which is basically some room to stand about on the floor, but with a big circle pole like thing to put your drinks on.
The bar is just past the standing area and goes around most of the pub from one end to the other. On the left of the bar you have the punch ball machine, which I really do not like, but it does not get used that much while I have been in.
To the right of the bar you have more seating area and where they hold the entertainment. and the ladies toilets are at the side of where the entertainment is placed.
Now the decor of the pub leaves a lot to be desired and it really needs to be all refurbished. Some of the seats have rips in them and are held closed with some sticky tape, which really is not a good look loll. The seats are still comfortable its just the look of them that's ruined.
Well one of the staff I have known since I was about 8 year old, so I always get on with her and have a good chat. The rest of the staff do seem ok and they serve you pretty quick and are always polite. The pub is never too busy though so quick service is inevitable, but die to this also you would think they would try to make conversation but they do stick more to their regulars except the lass I know.
For a pint of cider it costs me £3.10 I am not too sure how much other drinks cost as this is the only drink I buy.
This is yet another Karaoke pub, I have only ever been in on a Friday when they have done this but I am aware that they also do it on a Saturday too. They have a good set up and sound system for the Karaoke and plenty of people get up to sing, whether good or bad. I find it too be a good and friendly night in there and you always get the customers that clap for you no matter how bad you sound loll.
The toilets are based up a step just at the side of where they hold the entertainment, on walking in there is a nice smell although unsure what it is, there are two toilets that are both very clean and always supplied with toilet roll, then you have one wash basin. As I have never seen the pub that busy I have never had to queue for the toilets and they have always been very clean and nice smelling also.
Suitable for wheelchairs
No as there is steps to get into the pub and also there are steps to get to the toilets.
Why you may like it
* Polite staff
* Good entertainment
* Clean toilets
Why you may not like it
* Needs new decor
* Not very busy
* Not wheelchair friendly
My overall opinion
Well before I ever went in this pub I heard bad things about the place so I did stay away for quite a while, then I thought you can not judge a pub on what one person says so we tried it. We got told there was always violence in the pub which was totally untrue. I have never been into a pub that is so friendly and welcoming.
The beer was reasonable priced and the entertainment was good, so apart from the state of the decor I can not say anything bad about this pub and it is a good night out.
