with reference to historywitch who has written a very nasty review about the dog and pheasant, i have been going to this very beautiful pub for many years and eat in there very often, i can not believe that these people have written such a nasty review im gob smacked, the pub is situated in very beautiful country side, and has an excellent beer garden although there are not really and playthings for the children but at the end ofthe day it is a pub,i notice they have said the pub is very dark and dingy on a hot summers day did they acctually take there sunglasses of when inside, and the furniture smelt of wet dogs , well if u can find a wet dog in this pub in the middle . In response to the review dated 3/08/09. I am totally astonished that you could pen such a scathing attack on a VERY FRIENDLEY AND, I MIGHT ADD CLEAN PUB. The point you make on the aggresive Landlord being a retired Police man could not be further from the truth, in fact the LANDLADY of the pub you would not have seen because she spends her time in the kitchen cooking what i believe to be one of the finest roast's you can get. (i live in London and travel to this pub just for its lunches) I would also like to say that they are so busy on Sundays that you really do need to book in advance, and you may see a few plates which have food left on them, this is due to ...
