This is the fourth pub in a series opinions telling of my short pub crawl around 5
Brighton pubs / bars. If you wish to read the whole series please read my opinion on
the Font and Firkin first.
************************************
After leaving the Cricketers we found the Druids head. Myself and Tom remembered the pub from a Leisure and Tourism class visit to Brighton, we had gone on a tour and the guide mentioned that it was haunted.
The bar staff were very friendly, they told us about the how the pub is supposed to be
haunted and about the underground tunnels heading off to different places.
I ordered a JD and coke, they asked me if I would prefer a southern comfort and coke instead, a double. I told them I couldn't afford doubles and they agreed only to charge
me the price of a single...bonus :o)
I don't remember much of the pub inside as we sat outside. We had to transfer out drinks into plastic glasses to sit outside, a little annoying, but a good idea I suppose.
The chairs and tables outside were a little wobbly, but were comfortable. There were large flower containers.
The average age was definitely younger than the previous pub. A group of guys came round the corner cheering and holding up a trophy, my mate, always the drunken companion to any random drunk cheered with them and said
"they won a trophy!", they replied...
"no...we found one!". They went into the druids head and it became noisy. Still a pleasant pub, drunks or no drunks.
Prices: Southern comfort & coke (reduced double) £2.10
The weather turned colder and we decided to find somewhere where we could sit inside, we went off to Smugglers. Please rate this opinion and move on to my opinion on the smugglers :o)
