Advantages: Sometimes nice drinks, interesting food.

Disadvantages: Busy ...very busy

Probably one of the most 'fashionable' places to drink in York, the evil eye lounge is bohemian style cocktail bar that serves eclectic quasi- pan Asian food during the day. The bar staff are friendly although many have long dreadlocks and often look somewhat unwashed.

The bar is well stocked, with a wind range of alcohol with a respectable range of both Rum and Tequila. The cocktails are moderately priced, however depending on when you choose to go your cocktails will be made somewhere between poorly and satisfactory as the staffs bar skills aren't all up to the same standard. This is possibly due to an 'informal' training programme that one would assume the evil eye has considering how 'bohemian' and 'hip' it is (training is for squares).

Although it is probably worth visiting at least once if you are in York for the night it is usually very busy. This is unfortunately due to some idiot spreading the rumour that it is Johnny Depp's favourite bar in the UK. Shame.
