 ... playing his music to loud. Their aggressive new clientele seem not to mind the greatly inflated prices and rude staff but I find it an affront to the great old font. With the bath arms, black lion and so many other vastly better pubs just round the corn...more

Once upon a time there was a great friendly pub called the Font in the south lanes in Brighton and from what I can tell some time about late 2003 it was either brought out or received new management, a cheap makeover and lost all its charm. It once was a place where you'd meet your mates, be able to banter with the staff and occasionally listen to some great live music (and an Elvis impersonator) all in a the great atmosphere of a beautiful listed building. This is the first pub in a series of my opinions telling of a short pub crawl around 5 Brighton pubs / bars. *************************************** On the 18th of June myself and my friends Tom and Charlotte decided to celebrate the end (or near end) or out college years (well that was the excuse...we were really just bored). After a discussion with suggestions of paintballing, gokarting, laser quest etc. Charlotte came up with the idea of Brighton.
