If I sound a little like Victor Meldrew here, I apologise in advance - "I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!" "Why, dear old Mr Snappy - what's the problem?" Well here I am, for some reason casting my eye over 'towns in Bedfordshire' on dooyoo and I find that someone has written an op on a pub in the town where I live. It's only a small town and I never even realised we had a category - let alone that someone had gone to the trouble of writing about one of our pubs. Well what's special about the 'Golden Pheasant' ? The Golden Pheasant in Biggleswade is one of those pubs where you can relax over a pint (or in my case, a nice cuppa!) on a Saturday afternoon, or in fact any afternoon of the week. It's quite an old pub, with only one bar,but this is where it's charm lies. The clientele are mostly regulars, Biggleswadians who fancy a quick half while having a bit of a chat with their mates, but there are also people that come from further afield because it has been recommended to them. It welcomes children during the day, although I haven't seen many, probably because it is a very small pub, so no room for them to run about in.
