Disadvantages: The haunting of Ted Jones at Halloween

Its a very well kept pub with a local feel about it but also a dark story behind it from 1968.....

Well basically Ted Jones was a bit of a player, his local was The Hare and The Hare was known as the Nurses Pub as a lot of nurses used to drink there. Ted wasn't a one women man, he used to have a lot of women on the go, and he liked his nurses.



However his fun of playing the field came to an end one cold night in October 1968, the story goes he was suppose to meet one of the nurses down by the pond near the hospital, problem was he never returned alive. The post mortem showed that he was attacked from behind and not even Ted Jones may know who killed him on that cold night.



Did all the nurses' find out what Ted was doing to them and take out revenge in a cold calculated manner or was it one of Ted's so called friends who had just had enough of the way Ted was treating these women and attacked out of an act of jealously?



No one knows......except maybe one person......rumour has it Ted had a secret identical twin, this is how people think Ted had so many women on the go and could be in so many places at one time, did his mystery twin see Ted get murdered? Does the twin exist? Did the twin murder Ted? No one knows......



The investigation of the murder was carried out by Daryl Buffham of Essex police, the Jones family were not happy with how this was carried out, they feel not enough police efforts were made to find Ted's murderer. This may have been because Daryl had a sister called Mel, and Ted had a fancy for Mel, they had been seen out on many occasions, mostly down The Hare, did Mel murder Ted? Was it Daryl? No one knows....



This year 2008, marks the 40 year anniversary of Ted's death, 20 years ago on Halloween of 1988, The Hare pub suffered a power cut and for some unknown reason, no one could get out of a section of the pub for 10 minutes they were locked in darkness, you may think this is strange, but what is stranger is the fact that only the pub suffered from the power cut, none of the surrounding houses nearby were affected.....was this the doing of Ted Jones....No One Knows.....

Summary: Very Nice Pub............but watch out for Ted Jones
