On a recent day out, Mrs SWSt and I found ourselves at Tynemouth. Having visited the excellent Blue Reef Aquarium, we were feeling rather peckish and whilst there is a cafe at the aquarium, the offerings were slightly limited and didn't really appeal to us, so we wandered into the main town to find somewhere. When we visit somewhere new, we try to avoid chain coffee shops and restaurants, preferring to patronise local businesses instead. In Tynemouth, this didn't prove to be as we thought since there was a bit of suitable looking places and those that we did find proudly proclaimed that they served Costa coffee, which ruled them out. We called in at Hugo's yesterday (27/03/11) just purely for a drink and rest, but we saw the meals as they were bought out for customers. They looked really nice so we decided we would try the Sunday lunch. I have to say, we were not disappointed. There was more than enough, very nice meat and a good selection of veg. The staff were also very polite and helpful. We wont hesitate to return

Toby Carvery ( Buckhurst Hill ) - Reasonably priced, as much vegetables (potatoes) as required can be eaten, vegetarian options. None considering the price.
