Advantages: Will keep you posted.
Disadvantages: Will keep you posted.
D Wetherspoon.. sounds great on paper but does it actually meet the level of service that we are promised?
Well, after having used the JD Wetherspoon in Woolwich today, I feel the need to write a review of what you can expect from this chain..
To summarize what happened, I went in for a drink, recieved abuse and a threat of physical violence from a customer who certainly had more than enough to drink, and the helpful bar staff.. smiled and did nothing.
I have contacted the complaints department of this chain(which operates for all London branches) and they have promised to look into this matter. I'll keep you posted with how I get along so please be sure to check back soon..
Summary: I'll keep you all posted with how this pans out so please check back.. it could get interesting..

- 22/09/06 Wetherspoons do allow this to happen a little too often - when I lived in Coventry, my housemate was attacked in a Wetherspoons. The staff stood and watched, did nothing to intervene and wouldn't help the police. He ended up with a neck brace and his complaint letters were ignored. I hope you get a better result. |

- 16/02/06 Your comments are well noted, Belinda and thanks for them. I shall provide a review of their drinks and food along with my report of how customer services have dealt with the complaint. I guess after hearing similar stories in this particular pub, I felt this should have been addressed first. After all, a good drink is a safe drink, right?
However , regarding the fact that this could happen in any sort of pub, and forgive me for sounding old fashioned, but I firmly believe that traditional run pubs do not turn a blind eye to such behaviour, and certainly do not have such a impersonal feel to them. I sincerely hope JD Wetherspoon prove me wrong and show some professionalism in dealing with this matter.
Let's wait and see.. |

- 15/02/06 I agree with Belfin below, ultimately I doubt Wetherspoon routinely allow this to happen to their customers, although you had a poor experience today,. |
