cheap but not cheerful (J.D. Wetherspoon in general)

Advantages: cheap drinks , and food

Disadvantages: bad customer service, noisy extrator fans always on and cold. dark and no music

wetherspoons is a popular drinking place that has a whole chain of pubs across england.
They have a policy in most of them of no music and obviously now no smoking.
Ive been to a few wetherspoons throughout the country and some are better than others though they all have a few things in common,
firstly they are reasonably cheap ( though there is cheaper places )
and secondly they all serve food .
Wetherspoons has a bit of a mc donalds mentality about it where as its staff come and go and its very impersonal. i.e you get your drink sit down thats it in most of them.
Food wise they are generally good though some of it is over priced.
As far as being served goes ive always hated wetherspoons fo its service, its the only place i know where they have lots of customers and ahrdly any staff to cope with them.
you can spend ages waiting for to be served and many times ive just left.
also wetherspoons can work the other way as well a lot of the time there is loads of staff behind the bar but your still kept waiting, The staff never seem to know either who was inline to be served next. it isnt hard just to look up and take notice,
bad staff training is all i can put that down to.
They have a good choice of drinks and food and are great they for a drink and something to eat but not the type of places you'd want to spend long in.
As there is no music and usualy a extractor fan blowing somewhere close leaving you feeling cold , which is annoying when outside could be a hot summers day.
now there is no smoking in wetherspoons i dont see why they still have to have thoes damn fans on all the time not only are they noisy they are freezing. just crazy !
so overall wetherspoons is quite cheap for a drink and some food but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
its basically like a fast food reasturant with a bar.

Summary: a cheap place for a quick drink but aplace you'd want to stay to long
