I'd love to review a Wetherspoon specifically but I eat in far too many of them to limit myself! I suppose the ones I go to most often are in Potters Bar and in Cheshunt and they're both pretty similar in many respects despite appearing slightly different on the outside.


What's great about Wetherspoons is that you can get a really good traditional meal in just a few minutes and for a low price too. You go in, place your order at the bar, get your pint (or whatever drink you've ordered) right away then go and sit down while the kitchen prepares your meal.


It's then bought over to you when it's ready and all the while you've been able to sit supping your ale or your drink while you've been waiting. I love this kind of quick service, especially on a week day when I'm in a hurry to get back to work (I do occassionally work just for the record).


They have a really good menu featuring a good variety of traditional English foods like Beer and a Burger, Lasagne and Jacket Potatoes. They do a kiddy menu too so you can eat their with little ones which is easy to do since they banned smoking in pubs.


I think the service and the menu is what attracts so many people to Wetherspoons but the price is what keeps them coming back. You'd be hard pushed to find a decent meal with quicker service for less.

Summary: I had one just today!
