Advantages: Cheap and nationwide

Disadvantages: Often VERY busy on Friday and Saturday nights

I've visited several wetherspoons in my time and all of their pubs seem to stick firmly to the same receipe. Cheap food, cheap alcohol, and reasonably pleasant surroundings.

There are usually a variety of themed days throughout the week, including Sunday roast dinners, Grill nights on Tuesday and Curry nights on Thursday. On each of the themed days/nights, a particular type of meal is offered at a set price, usually including a drink.

The quality of the food in wetherspoons seems to vary a bit, I've had some very nice meals (their curry is usually very good). The food quality is never horendous however, and for a quick easy fix it beats Mc Donalds in my opinion.

There is usually a massive selection of drinks, from alcopops to ales, something for everybody. Occasionally they hold beer festivals and other such occasions where they'll add to their stock of a particular genre of alcohol.

Wetherspoons often have promotions on various drinks/meals and if you live in the right area, you may recieve a booklet of vouchers through your door, which range from discounts on a particular drink to buy one get one free meals.

The problem with Weatherspoons pubs is that they have a reputation for being cheap and so at certain times of the week (mostly Friday and Saturday nights) will attract all the youth who are out to get as drunk as possible. Much of the time it's impossible to get a seat, and takes a long time to get to the bar. I guess this is true of any popular venue however.

Overall, Wetherspoons is a welcome sight in any town I visit. It is always nice to know you can have a reasonably priced meal and drink in a pleasant enviroment. I generally just steer clear on Friday and Saturday nights!

Summary: Enjoy a visit to Wetherspoons

I think they are ok for a burger but much more and it comes cold and tastes gross - or is that just the Rugby branch?

they can be relied upon for a decent glass of wine, but definitely not a place to eat..!
