Every Wednesday the Jug of Ale on the A435 Kings Heath holds Quids in, this is a pound entry and a pound a pint of many things (too many to list!) inc. Carling, and shots of Vodka are a pound too! The reason you pay in is to watch the quality of local bands play live. Upstairs is dedicated to the talent of live bands (usually rock/indie), including the bands 1.21, Screaming Julie and many more, most of which are surprisingly good. Downstairs is a DJ playing mainstream/indie & indie music, with several rooms to sit in, and upstairs being standing room only, it means that the bar is often quite full, creating a great atmosphere. Also is a pool table, fantastic pinball table and extra large wide screen TV (with Sky Sports) Another reason to go there is if you are an autograph hunter as the members of KingAdora (yes thats right - KingAdora) are often found here drinking. At closing time (11) pretty much the whole bar (staff 'n' all) head up to the indie night at Snobs in the city centre, creating a fantastic night out!!
