Advantages: good atmosphere
Disadvantages: bit expensive
O'neils never fails. There is a trusty o'neils in nearly evert big town. They provide a large selection of alcholic and non-alcholic drinks, with usually a fair few decent beers to draft. The prices generally are a bit higher then some bars i know however the atmosphere is much nicer.
I tend to go to watch the football as they generally put up large screens when there is a big match on. They also do the place up on special occassions such as halloween and st Patricks day (however i live in a student town so it may not be the same for every branch).
On friday nights they get a live band playing (again, this may not be the same for every branch) which always provide some good entertainment whilst drinking.
Now for the important bit...food. They have a extensive menu ranging from pasta to reibs. It is not your traditional pub menu but i like having a large choice. They also have a seperte menu, a taste of Ireland, which has a selection of about 5 or 6 dishes all for £2.95. I usually go for this menu, getting a bacon cheese burger and chips, which is actually very nice.
Summary: good pub to watch the footie at
