Should you go drinking in Burnley town centre, I would strongly advise you not to visit the Old Red Lion at the bottom of Manchester Road. The beer tastes off, the bar staff are surly, rude and the manageress is not only offensive but uses her doormen strong arm tactics to remove you from the pub should you make a complaint. Not only does the place smell of stale beer, but your feet will stick to the carpet, and the warm beer will burn a hole in your pocket!! The notice outside the building advertises a 1am late licence, however I was thrown out at 11.30pm as the manageress decided that she had had enough and wanted to go to bed. On informing the manageress that I had just purchased a round of drinks costing sixteen pounds I was told that if I didn't like it I could drink somewhere else. From the outside the Old Red Lion looks friendly and inviting, but don't let this mislead you!!!
