As you head out of eastbourne on the A259 towards Seaford and Newhaven, you will come across a small village called East Dean. In this village is a remarkable pub that can get a little cramped at times. They serve some of the most exquisite pub food that I have ever encountered in all my life. The pub goes by the name of the Tiger Inn. The pub gets very busy at times due to the reputation it so deservedly has in the Eastbourne area. In addition to a very good selection of real and keg ales and lagers, and the usual stout selection, there is a very good wine list. The food is amazing. The wide ranging menu, from fish to pies to pasta to roast is home cooked, the veg are served separately in a dish, and the portions are not what you would call small! It is simply one of the best meals that you can get in the South of England. Try it, but watch for the crowds.
