We took my Mum and Dad out to celebrate his birthday; we decided to go to the Pheasant at Winnersh. They were displaying Sunday Lunches from £4.50, which seemed quite reasonable.
We walked into a very very smoky atmosphere. The eating area seemed extremely cramped, and weren’t to comfortable if you sat on what looked liked church pews.
The dish of the day was Roast Lamb, there was also Roast Chicken and Roast Beef, and we made a selection of Roast Lamb and Roast Beef.
In our party there was seven of us to feed. After we had ordered our food through a waitress, which came to the table, there was a long wait over an hour at least, other customer received and finished their food, before we had even received our food. The staff seemed very unprofessional and didn’t seem to have any sort of uniform, or dress code, they could have been dragged of the street for all I knew.
The foods eventually arrived, well we thought it had, but we were mistaken, it was just the vegetables and gravy.
The vegetables and gravy sat for a while, growing colder and colder, waiting for the meat and potatoes.
When the meat and potatoes arrived they weren’t very generous with the meat, and the potatoes ranged from being burnt to being nearly raw, but extremely hot.
My husband found foil mixed in with his Roast Beef.
We had young children with us, and we didn’t feel like waiting any longer in the smoky environment, so we decided to visit the local Sainsbury’s to purchase Raspberry Turnovers for our pudding.
