The Teach Domain Bar and restaurant in the centre of Carlow Town, Ireland is the ideal location if you want a drink or food. It is in a great area in the centre of town on Tullow Street and easily recognised as it has the stone on the outside walls.
This is a multi-award winning pub that has a very friendly atmosphere to it and the staff are extremely friendly too. The bar derives it's name orginally from Carlow's Dolmen period, centuries ago, this bar and restaurant has built up a firm repuation over the years.
When you enter you will notice how relaxed the pub is and the interior is decorated with old artefacts from the past. The lighting is subtle without being too bright and seating is very comfortable. The atmosphere is inviting and you will find open fires scattered around the place. It's ideal for families during the day and at night there are often bands playing and a party atmosphere so it caters for everyone.
The pub and restuarant recently had a big refurbishment. There are two main bars downstairs. The first one is mainly for a drink and the other one is for eating as well and there are numerous big screen TVs which regularly show the latest sporting event. At the rear of the 2nd bar is the new resturant which is now expanded where you can also have a carvery served every day from 12.15pm to 14.30pm.
Upstairs is the function area where I have been to a 21st party and my son's christening meal and it is great with it's own separate bar and dedicated staff to serve your every need.
Food is served every day in here with lunch being 12pm - 3pm and dinner between 3pm and 9pm approximately.
If you have ever been to Carlow or are planning to in the near distant future then this pub is well worth frequenting and it's fine for all the family of if you want a bit more entertainment of an evening with their late license on certain evenings.
Summary: Food served all day and a friendly venue
