Newest Review: ... with the other family – fine. We hung about at the bar until the other family was dealt with and then the barman came over and let the bombshell loose that they had run out of chips, disaster!! They still had jacket potatoes and sautéed potatoes so we decided to stay. I once again tried to order but was told to sit down for now and he would come over and take our order. I was now starting to get a bit aggravated especially when the barman walked passed a couple of times. The Stag & Pheasant @ Pontarsais near Carmarthen on the A485 has always been a pub known for its food or at least it was when I lived in the area. I was down at my parent’s last bank holiday Monday in Llandysul and was late leaving. My partner Jackie was with me so we thought we would stop for a meal on the way home and the Stag & Pheasant sounded like a good idea. We pulled into the car park, which was quite full, which is a good sign I guess. At the bar was a family trying to decide what to order for food and arguing a rather lot.
