Advantages: Loads of pubs and clubs concentrated in a small area, Lots of people makes lively atmosphere, Cheaper drinks on average than most places
Disadvantages: Clubs open until 3am (probably exceptions)
It's true. Newcastle is without a doubt a very happening city and is widely regarded as the best partying city in Britain.
Since there was no category for Newcastle night life specifically I'll make do with this one, which is relevant enough. This is an overview of what Newcastle has to offer in the way of nightlife.
There are bars and clubs to satisfy all tastes in Newcastle. The infamous Bigg Market is the place to go if you enjoy lads (and lasses) fighting, couples shagging and bodies collapsing and basically just want a mad hectic time. This has loads and loads of clubs and is nearby many clubs. The Quayside is also renowned for its pubs, with some of them offering a good view of the Tyne River such as Flynns, a pub well known for it's cheap Spirits - espescially during Happy hour.
Whatever your taste, there is likely a pub which suits you in Newcastle. One of the benefits of Newcastle nightlife is that the city is small and all pubs and clubs, which totals hundreds, are within walking distance of each other - great for pub crawls etc.
Here is some of the selection of pubs/bars in Newcastle with music. Some may be repeated as they cover several types of music.

Newcastle attracts quite a few celebrities into its nightclubs and if you plan your night well you could have the best night of your life. One problem with Newcastle is that the clubs are mostly open until 3am. There will be exceptions, but I don't know of any. If anyone does please tell me! On special occasions such as the Love Parade and New Year they are open until 6am. Some cities such as Leeds have clubs until 6am but they can still only serve alcohol until 2am so they tend to fill up with druggies after that. Newcastle council should push towards this, as it would improve the nightlife to Britain's best without a doubt.
I hope Tony Blair does something about this silly 11 o clock pub license too (it was implemented during the war to stop people staggering through the streets at night as bombs fell, and the law was never lifted!). He talked about it before the last election but there's been no mention since. Does anyone know if he has any plans to change th
is law soon?
Thanks for any comments.
