Advantages: Not too busy, loads of seating, pool tables
Disadvantages: Not cheap.
The Quayside is an interesting place to go. Situated right on the edge of Southampton's vast grey building known as Leisure World (Oceana, Odeon, Grosvenor Casino). Built away from the main section of the complex, but still part of it. I tend to think of it myself as the place you go when you don't feel you've dressed smart enough to go in the clubs!
There are some seating outside, and as you walk in the bar is in the middle on you're left. Theres plenty of seating around the venue, and they have a pool table down by the toilets.
Both the last couple of times I've been in, its been pretty quiet (usually early evening (7/8pm) and on going to the bar to get a drink its taken over 10 minutes to get served a round of drinks. It always just seems as though they never have enough staff in there at any time. Although the usual clientale do seem to be rather sporty, and perhaps I don't fit in!
Otherwise the atmosphere isn't bad at all, fairly quiet, not too rowdy, fairly clean and the toilets aren't bad to use!
The prices were a bit on the high side, like they are fixed as they are attached to the Leisure World name.
Summary: Always good for a quiet drink after a movie!
