Que Pasa Chelmsford is a popular place day and night. It is located in the centre of town where there are a few bars and other restaurants including a La Tasca, Edwards, Wetherspoons and a Yates. Of all of these bars this is probably the one i visit most regularly.
It is supposed to be a Spanish themed bar and Que Pasa means 'What's Happening' but to honest it's all a bit of a mish mash decor wise and looks a bit more like a boudoir of some sort with animal print booths, Spanish style tiling, and there's even a pole in the middle of the dancefloor (not sure how Spanish that is!)
That said during the day there are some good deals on food and the food is much better here now than it used to be. Their club sandwiches are really nice and you can get a tapas tower (which is six different tapas) and a bottle of house wine for only £12 which is a bit of a bargain. They sell a selection of other tapas, burgers, pizzas, pub grub and salads too. It's quite good for a quick snack with friends. If you're in the mood for a dessert try the Ultimate - you can share it between about four and there will still be some left!
There are a huge range of drinks and wine and they have a great cocktail menu too!
At night time Que Pasa comes alive and Wednesday nights here are legendary in town - they are the only place that is busy and have a DJ on and BBQ on the upstairs balcony.
Friday and Saturday nights are very busy - particularly Saturdays and whilst they are quite quiet early on as the bar is open until 3am there are queues from around midnight so it's a good idea to get there early!
Que Pasa is located in the heart of Chelmsford's town centre in the perfect location next to the river and next to a number of other popular bars too.
It has a great seating area at the front of the bar which catches the sun from early morning to late afternoon and upstairs they have a nice balcony which overlooks the river and there is plenty more outside seating here and it gets the sun from mid afternoon well into the evening if it's sunny.
Inside there are booths and tables and chairs so you can take your pick of where you want to sit.
They sell coffees and hot chocolates, a huge range of spirits, beer and wine and they have the best cocktail list! If you can't see what you want one of the bartenders will be happy to make up a surprise for you.
By day it's great to go for a spot of lunch with a really varied menu and some great deals on food too. They sell tapas, pub favourites, pizzas, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, burgers and salads so you're not short of choice!
By night Que Pasa get's really lively and has a great Wednesday night which is always packed due to the fab drinks deals and atmosphere. Friday and Saturdays are always busy although it's so popular if you don't get there early you sometimes have to queue which is a bit of a pain!
I recommend Que Pasa for a coffee, lunch, after work drink or party night out! There's definitely something for everyone!
