The Rose and Crown is not your typical town pub. Situated in North Oxford's gastronomic oasis, North Parade (see Luna Caprese), it will come as a welcome relief from many of the pubs in central Oxford which just seem like clones of another. The Rose and Crown has been around as long as anyone cares to remember. Step inside and little seems to have changed since it was opened. There is no music, there are no games machines; just booze and food, both of the highest quality. This resistance to modern pub features does not mean that the inside is unwashed, dank, and smelly; the walls are painted in cream, and all is clean- cosy, not dingy. The star of ...
