Newest Review: ... is tastefully decorated with a coal effect gas fire in each. Four real ales are always available, two house and two guest, which are always kept in excellent condition! There are also lagers, cider, stout and a selection of bottles for the non traditionalists! Wine is on sale by bottle or glass in red white or a whole range of fruit varieties. From opening time until eight at night food is available, everything is homemade on the premises even the bread is baked there! The menu is excellent with daily specials, and vegitarian options, (just don`t expect to find burgers and chips on the menu!) The steak and ale pie is highly recommended... more

If you are ever in York try a visit to the Royal Oak which is situated in Goodramgate close to the minster. The Royal Oak is a traditional English public house, when you arrive there you will see a white fronted oak beamed building with leaded glass windows, inside are three main rooms the bar, lounge and snug (which is a non smoking family room uptil nine at night). each room is tastefully decorated with a coal effect gas fire in each.
