Advantages: Electric Jukebox that allows track downloads if the track isnt pre-listed.

Disadvantages: New management, new era. Not what it was, but still awesome.

The Sir Charles Napier in Blackburn.

Once a regular, the pub holds a special place in my heart, being that it was the place I spent many a Saturday afternoon playing pool and drinking coke. And then, when I was old enough, I didnt go back as often.

The ownership changed hands a couple of times, after the most successful Manager died suddenly. The place, as of 2008, has a uniform policy, of all things, after the Napier garnered a reputation of allowing any of 'riff raff' through the doors as long as their hand was in their pocket paying for beer.

Nowadays, the inside has been rejuvinated, and updated with the latest technology as it pertains to the Jukeboxes and Games Machines.

What was once a traditional Rock and Metal Pub, which was easily seeing 100 people every day of the weekend, and making a huge profit, is now a Pub with Rock and Metal Music, a Uniform Policy and a pretty steep price on their beer. Its still an enjoyable night, along with the Cellar Bar being the only bars in Blackburn that offer a true Rock night out for those not into Dance and House and Hip Hop music, but its lost its appeal of what it used to be.

Still, some of us still go back, pay the price for the beer, and enjoy the night for what the Napier has meant to many of us, like for like.

And the Jukebox? Well, dont expect Delta Goodrem... dont expect DJ Spazmataz with the Hardcore remake of some song on Dirty Dancing... expect Ramones, Metallica, Megadeath, Slayer, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Limp Bizkit.

I hear there is some Kylie on there, though... why? Dont ask.

I would love to own or work in that pub one day. THATS how much I would recommend it to any person who loves any kind of music that involves an Electric Guitar.

Summary: Go and buy a beer there if your in Blackburn.
