Skiff Inn (Swalwell)Newest Review: ... bar area is a long room with tables dotted around the edges, and is decoarated in an olde worlde style- lots of wood panelling and Toby jugs as well as the expected boating paraphernalia. An excellent "traditional" public house, not for somebody who fancies TGI, KFC or Mcdonalds or other family "all you can eat" places. Always great service and food is delicious, when ever family come up from the south we choose here, quiet and nice place to have a social drink and something to eat.

I visited the Skiff Inn with my partner for lunch only to be humiliated by an Italian waiter, he was rude and obnoxious, I have visited the Skiff on several occasions but will never darken its doors again. I took a seat in the conservatory, the waiter came over to inform me I had taken someone elses table, there was no indication anyone was sitting there, I offered to move only to be told not to bother the other couple had left. I was really embarrased and told him I felt he had been rude to me. He said would I walk into your living room and just take a seat on your sofa?? This is a public house not a high class restaurant and I certainly did not see a sign saying please wait to be seated, we left without eating embarrased and very upset, never again.

There is plenty of parking around the pub and also just opposite where there is a large car park for the Holiday Inn Express and TGI Fridays. We often parked here and nobody has ...
