15th century sloop inn st Ives (Sloop Inn)
Member Name: pinksnip
Advantages: Central place georgeous rooms Disadvantages: Pub nearly always busy A very old pub indeed if I remember corrrectly it's 15th century so very low ceilings and beautiful wood. In the back room they have quaint little booth like areas to sit and have a fabulous meal. Not too pricey but very well cooked the staff are very friendly and chatty, if you stay in one of the many ajoining rooms or cottages owned by the inn they do great breakfast with lots of choice, you choose from a menu the night before and they serve it in the pub between 8.30-9.30. Some of the rooms offer a room service breakfast but they do get booked up quite a long way I. Advance but wl worth it as you have a great veiw of the harbour.back to the pub yes they are happy to have children but it is always heavily packed with people so may be difficult with pushchairs. They have half a dozen benches out the front so a great veiw of the harbour and smeatons peir while you have a bevvy. Well worth a stop in. And a must to stay. Prices are around£45 a person a night depending on the season this may vary. If would like to see the veiw the pubs website has a web cam with veiws out the front and also the surfing beach behind, great fun if you have friends staying in that area as you could see the on the net. Summary: A must see and stay the night. |
