The Sparrow is part of the Brewers Fayre chain of pubs and restaurants and is situated on Coombe Fields Road, Ansty, Coventry, West Midlands.
We visited this pub as we were staying at adjacent Premier Inn. In fact I chose this particular Premier Inn due to the facilities that the pub offered!

The pub is situated down a country lane with pleasant surroundings directly opposite open fields. The motorway is approximately half a mile away and can be seen in the distance but during our visit we were not troubled by traffic noise.

When we arrived at our destination we were told that The Sparrow served food until 10pm - it was just after 9.30pm, so after throwing our bags in our room headed for the pub - we were starving!
The pub can be accessed via the Premier Inn by external doors.
Once inside the pub is bright and welcoming, very well lit with excellent decor.
I noted how remarkably clean, tidy and uncluttered it was.

It wasn't overly busy, just busy enough to create an atmosphere. The staff attended to us immediately and were most helpful in bringing and setting up the brand new high chair for my 8 month old. They were extremely attentive and friendly - asking about the purpose of our visit etc and seemed genuinely interested.
Menus were provided and we were left to make our choices.

My 7 year old son opted for a pizza - two toppings, unfortunately he only liked the ham so double ham it was!
I chose the prawn cocktail to start followed by a bacon and cheese burger with chips, whilst my vegetarian partner went for quiche and chips with garlic bread.
Our orders were taken quickly and efficiently and our drinks were brought to our table.

My experience of our local Brewers Fayre is decidedly average so we were not expecting to be wowed by the food - but what a surprise! My starter was great, a good sized portion, fresh crispy salad, juicy plump prawns and just the right amount of sea food dressing.

Our main courses were equally as good, had I know the portion sizes I would probably decided against a starter. All the food was food was cooked to perfection. My sons pizza didn't resemble one that had just been taken out of the freezer it was more akin to that from an Italian eatery.
My partners quiche was the biggest surprise. He is normally served an over cooked concave 1" thick slice of quiche. Here he was offered a large chunky slice, approx 2.5" thick, cooked extremely well. He commented on the refreshing change!

We had a few drinks at the bar - Brewers Fayre operate a tab system whereby your credit/debit card details are provided upon arrival, you then use your receipt on subsequent visits to the bar and are presented with a final bill upon leaving. This saves the hassle of carrying cash, very handy!

Or meal came to approximately £50, that included drinks - I'm estimating that we had three pints each and my son had one soft drink. Great value for money.

The Premier Inn breakfast was also served st The Sparrow and was once again an excellent standard with staff welcoming and friendly. My son was able to take advantage of the outdoor play area whilst we finished our breakfast - we were able to keep an eye on him as the playground was situated opposite the dining room.
I'm quite sure that this facility would have kept him amused for a good few hours however he was the only child playing!
(He also enjoyed the pool table on the previous evening - although watching and not playing much to his dismay!).

I would certainly recommend this pub/restaurant. Friendly staff, excellent food at reasonable prices. I really cannot find any fault or flaw - and for me that is most unusual! We will certainly be visiting again in the future.
