On walking into the pub
On walking into the pub the first thing you are greeted by are the toilets on the left hand side, both the ladies and the gents are right next to each other. Straight down the corridor there is a room, which to be honest I have never been in that one so am unable to comment, but just across from the toilets is another room, which is the main one I have been in.
In the room there is a few tables and buffets, but it is a pretty small room, and a pretty small bar too, but to be honest its never been that busy when I have been in so there was plenty of room to move about. And to sit down. There is no pool tables or anything but whether there is one in the other room or not I am not too sure.
The staff do seem pretty friendly in there, I have only ever seen two people in there and they were the landlord and landlady so you would expect them to be polite anyway. They usually stand in the other bar though as it is an adjoining bar, so they don't really strike up much of a conversation with you, though they do serve you pretty quick and always have their eye on both bars to make sure no one has to wait to be served.
This is by far the cheapest pub I have ever been in and at £2 a pint you really can't go wrong but there is a reason it is so cheap which I will go into further on in the review.
These are pretty clean and well kept, and always have a good supply of toilet roll and soap. There is only 2 toilet cubicles but I have never seen this pub that busy so I have never had to wait to get into the toilets.
Now this is why the prices are so cheap, they do not own an entertainment licence, so there is never any entertainment on, and they are not even allowed to have a duke box in there. Si it can be pretty boring if you are not in the right company loll.
suitable for wheelchairs?
No its not the doors are not that wide plus there is a step to get into the pub, also to get into the room is a pretty sharp and small bend which you would find hard to get a wheelchair in, also there is no disabled toilets.
Why you may like it
* Cheap beer
* Friendly staff
* Not a bad atmosphere
Why you may not like it
* No entertainment
* Can be boring
My overall opinion
Well the pub is great for its cheap beer, but its not somewhere that I think I could stay all night, I like some form of entertainment in a pub, and this has none, not even a duke box. If you are someone who prefers a nice quiet pint then this is the pub for you. There is usually a few regulars in there that are there after work for a quiet cheap pint and a good chat, but the pub really is not for me. I get pretty bored easily and this pub does bore me, You can only keep a conversation going so long before you eventually run out. So when I have gone here I do only normally pop in for a quick drink and then move on somewhere else.
