With Archaos ten yards down the road Strata is perfect for a preclub bevvy. Drinks are around the 2 quid to 2.50 mark (standard for Glasgow) and the clientele are a relaxed, happy bunch. Strata can be found at 45 Queen Street and has been open for about a year. the first thing that you notice is the impressive design of the bar - a giant isobar chart swirls across the main wall. The urge to impersonate John Kettly has never been stronger. Unlike many bars in the city Strata has large windows which look out onto Queens street. This can lead to a slight goldfish bowl feel when you are eating but other than that it provides a nice natural light glow which is all too rare in Glasgow bars.
