Temple Bar (Dublin) Reviews

Temple Bar (Dublin) Pub / Bar National

Newest Review: ... over the past number of year. My last visit was on a Friday night and was extremely busy. That being said I found it relatively easy to get served at the bar as the staffs seem to be very efficient working in those conditions. The majority of customers seemed to be tourists. One member of staff was very rude to one member of our party when he served three drinks instead of two. He insisted she ordered three drinks and should have to pay for them. Luckily for us the girl concerned gave as good as she got but It was a clear sign to me that the bar man needed a break. He clearly was in the wrong and was rude about it but got a taste of his... more

Temple Bar, Dublin I was in Dublin recently for an Aslan concert which was very good. The concert finished at 1030 with no encore which was a lot earlier than I was expecting. However we had arranged to meet up with some friends and we choose Temple Bar as everyone knew were it was. What is Temple Bar? Temple Bar is the main or busiest cultural district in Dublin. It's a cobbled street that is lined with a number of bars and restaurants. One of the most popular pups on the street is called Temple Bar and is a very popular place for tourists. My opinion I have been to this bar many times over the past number of year. ...  Read the complete review

Temple Bar is, unsurprisingly, in the Temple Bar area of Dublin. The fact that the pub shares its name with the dostrict seems to confuse some people - it seems like, after being told that Temple Bar was *the* place to go, the entireity of Dublin tries to cram into *the* Temple Bar every night. This is not a place for claustophobes. Nor is it a place for those who like to sit down, or hear each other, or breathe. It's a huge pub - with a (half-covered) beer garden, two inside areas, and two bars - but so many people try and cram inside, it's unbelieveable. And also a lot less enjoyable than other places nearby. Prices are about average, if a ...  Read the complete review

~ ~ Mention the words “Temple Bar” to anyone from Europe or North America, and immediately you are likely to be regaled by stories of the wild time they have had while visiting this trendiest of bohemian districts in Ireland’s capital Dublin, or else how much they really want to go and pay a visit, as they’ve heard so much about it from their friends. What is incredible about this is that as little as twenty years or so ago this district was nothing better than a run down (and fast becoming derelict) slum, right in the heart of the city, and not a stone’s throw from the city’s premier street, O’Connell Street. A decision ...  Read the complete review

The most famous Pub (153 words)

The best-known pub mile in Dublin is called temple bar and in the centre directly is this pub with identical name. Because I was been once there, it is very full in the evening mostly. Of course there is live music without end, not real without end because all pubs without particular licence close at 11 p. m. (in the summer 11.30). Is it too full there that’s no problem should either, there are pub over pub and on the streets are musician from all countries. You are right here if like commotion, but if not you can go to the Porterhouse in the near. Face controls are usual there; they don’t like great groups and want to see your ID-Card. Then ...  Read the complete review

Temple Bar (Dublin): The Temple Bar (92 words)

The name of the Temple Bar seems synonamous with the drinking centre of Ireland. You expect it to be the best pub imaginable but you'll be disappointed, it is an average pub with well above average prices (A Guinness and a Vodka and orange: IR£7.15 =~£6 sterling). You'd be much better off in the Quays Bar on Temple Bar square, cheaper and very small and cosy - you can see what every Irish theme pub in Britain wants to be but can't. Definitely forget about the Temple Bar itself. ...  Read the complete review
