The Anchor is situated on Silver street in the centre of Cambridge. It is next to Queens' college and on the side of the Cam. It is a very studenty pub, and can be totally packed on a weekend. Having said that, it is a good place to meet for a drink early evening. It is on four levels, and the interior has a good traditional feel to it with a few small wooden booths and upstairs there are large windows which look onto the Cam. The food is also basic pub fare, with a hot buffet area upstairs on a Sunday. Good value for money, and not that bad tasting either. There is a small but well located area to drink beer outside. There are only about five tables here, but secure one of them on a warm summer evening, and grab a pint of beer and watch punters go by.
