The Castle Inn (Rowland's Castle) ... flagstone and timber floors. An old traditional pub which prides itself on good ale, good food and old fashioned hospitality. Located directly opposite Stansted Park which is an impressive 500 acres of Trust woodland, there are lots of walks around including the South Down Way. Food is freshly prepared on the premises and we are famous for our handmade pies, which include favourites such as steak & ale, chicken & ham, chicken & leek etc. Our non smoking restaurant and lounge offer you a comfortable environment to dine or enjoy a drink, or you can choose to dine al fresco in the summer. Because of our popularity booking is recommended for food in the evenings and at weekends. We are also proud of our well kept real ales, which is much appreciated by the real ale drinker.

From inside the inn you get nice views of outside which is basically just nice and green and outside you are right in the countryside which is fantastic. ----- Parking: The parking area is not huge and is set just behind the Inn. Express Review on The Castle Inn (Rowland's Castle)

Just recently me and four other friends attended the Castle inn for lunch, I have passed the pub many times going for walks in the nearby park, we went to the Castle Inn for an elderly friends birthday, the surroundings are very warm and easy to fall into, the meal I had was the beef and ale pie, with fresh vegetables.
And I will say the pie was top notch for me lots of beef steak, not cheap chewy steak, but good size portions, the pastry was just the right consistency not to thick or thin, and even the Vegetables were not over cooked, Perfect for me.
This was on the 18/06/09 a good summers day, We are going again for an evening meal on the 26/06/09 Excellent Value will recommend highly.

I went down to Portsmouth for a wedding and on the Saturday we had six hours to go until we had to be there and after the four hour drive down there we were starving. I was always on the lookout for places to see and eat and when I saw a tourist sign for Rowland’s castle I thought we may as well go. I thought there would be a castle but it turns out it is just a little village name. While we were there though we spotted a really sweet little pub called the castle inn and we thought we might as well get some food while we there and it was quite a pleasant experience. ----- What is the Castle Inn? It is a small pub which has quite a ...  Read the complete review
