The Crown Inn (Leicester) Reviews

The Crown Inn (Leicester) Pub / Bar National

Newest Review: ... kids play area. The kitchens have been totally refurbished since they took over, which may account for others bad views on the food aspect, but since the refurbishment the kitchen is spotless & the food is fantastic. The pub is home to the local football club, which it sponsors, so can get a little lively in the evenings of a weekend, which only adds to a great atmosphere (I personally would rather drink in a pub full of fun people, than in an empty pub). It is a regular destination of mine & in my regular visits except for the young children visiting with their parents, who do not stay all night, seen any teenagers in there, let al... more

We live in Anstey and it is great to have such a nice pub in the village. The food is great, with some special offers in the week. There Sunday lunch 3 course menu is delightful! And are willing to accomodate any changes or requests. We have been for several meals since it was taken over in dec 09 and only ever had one issue which was handled great and 25% was knocked off of the total bill. They welcome families and do great food for my 2 and 4 year old who split one childs meal due to the ample size. The staff are very friendly and we always feel welcome.

The pub was re-opened at Christmas (2009) and is fantastic. The interior has been totally remodeled and looks great. The new management and staff are very friendly and professional. The food is the best around these parts by far.The drinks menu caters for all tastes, from espressos to vintage wines and luxuriant spirits. The drinks prices are a little higher than the other village pubs, but that is no bad thing in my opinion. The smart/casual dress code is also a welcome introduction.

The Crown is a great pub. It offers a family run, family friendly atmosphere. Since the new owners arrived they have invested a lot of money & time into making it a success. The pub is cleaner than any of the others in the surrounding area, they have a beer garden with a heated smokers shelter & kids play area. The kitchens have been totally refurbished since they took over, which may account for others bad views on the food aspect, but since the refurbishment the kitchen is spotless & the food is fantastic. Having been to the crown a few time since the new owners have taken over..here are my viewsIf you are under 18 then this is the pub for you..The landlord is happy to serve drinks to underage kids. The children are allowed to run freely throughtout the pub, sometimes a bit to much...also allowed to climb on the furniture and generally run riot, but if you have kids and you are happy with this then why not give the place a visit. The food, what food..it has been a long time since they offered anything other than a packet of crispsThis pub really needs to get its act together.....need I say more
