      A so so pub!

When it comes to bars, pubs and clubs in Weston Super Mare we have rather a few of them to say the least. I'm lucky enough to live a stagger away from the town centre and am there often with friends having nights out of late.

The Dragon Inn is about a 10 minute walk from the sea front and still in the town centre though not in the thick of it so to speak. It is part of the Wetherspoon chain of pubs and is rather a small pub which is why another Wetherspoons, much larger has recently opened on the beach road with seafront views (Cabot).

Its set on a small street with other pubs and has no parking of its own so if your coming here with a car you need to find a separate car park to which there are rather a few pay and displays and the like.

      The Pub:

Oldy worldy, this pub is a place for literally all ages to have a drink and a meal and the likes and children are welcome. Outside the front of the pub there are tables for us smokers and that area is fully licensed too so you can drink without feeling guilty out there. Sadly though there are no heaters to keep us warm though!

Inside the pub has dark wood furniture, tables of many shapes and sizes and nice feature fireplaces. The bar is huge stocked with all the usual alcohol and none alcohol offerings you can imagine. The place is clean and tidy though I always feel that it is a bit dingy in there as it is so dark and with seating areas looking like benches up the right hand side of the pub covered in a similar dark material to the reddish carpet and in my opinion this place needs brightening up rather badly!

The prices are standard and the food is simply ok. All the usual Wetherspoons fair is on offer like steak and chips and fish and chips though the menu is rather basic and the prices range from about £3.50 for rolls and things like that to £4.50ish for fish and chips and so on.

Service is always fast and friendly here and there is always a good atmosphere. Its also a busy pub too so racket is made from patrons and lunch times on any day of the week, you will struggle to get a table.

There are several tv screens showing the news all day long with subtitles, free wifi and a cash machine that does charge you £1.75 to get your own money out, and fruit machines. The toilets are kept clean and there is a disabled one as well but disabled access isn't great if the pub is busy...which like I stated earlier it usually is.

This isn't my favourite pub but it is family friendly and its clean and in Weston.....well its very popular at any time of day!
