I felt complelled to write this review after visiting Doniford on my £9.50 sun holiday with my 2 little girls and best friend.
We stopped in The Farmers Arms because we had noticed the sign advertising good food. fine Ale. Lovely Garden. Log fires and bar open all day! It also boosts of being in the good pub guide 2008 and good beer guide 2008 also.
We arrived about 6pm one evening hoping for food the sign is clear but the pub is set back from the road a little. We discovered sadly they only serve food between 12 and 2pm then again between 7pm till late and with my girls being very young we decided to go a little further down the road.
First impressions were that it was beautiful.
There is a pretty courtyard garden with umbrellas and benches.
The place didnt seem hugely accessible there was a small step up to the door the entrance to the bar and resturant area is on a sharp angle and we choose to sit in a booth which we had to practically hurdle into it was so close to the table. However there were more accessible seating areas.
The menu looked awesome and the prices were reasonable for the high standard of cuisine on offer, such as, oysters, fish, venison etc.
I did not get the chance to go back but I definately will at some point despite the minor awkwardness of getting in with a buggy.
