      Very helpful

      Check it out

We recently ate at the Foxburrow Inn at Lowestoft whilst staying at the Premier Inn located behind it. We paid £20 to have a two course meal and an all you could eat breakfast in the morning.

On approaching the Foxburrow you instantly notice how old and big the building is. It is a Georgian Family house with the bar on the first level on the right of the main door and the restaurant spreading over five levels on the left of the building. It was recently refurbished in April of 2009 and it really shows. All of the original features have been kept and built around and this makes for a really interesting place just to be in and look around if nothing else. The mix of new and old has been done really well.
There is wheelchair access and seating to eat in the bar, however there are stairs to the restaurant and no disabled access to it that I saw.

The bar is large with plenty of seating, and the restaurant is biggest part of the building but with all seats being far enough away from each other to have a normal if not slightly loud conversation and not feel like you are disturbing the people sitting near by.

The night we ate here the bar was very busy and we chose to eat in the restaurant and were led to our seats within a couple of minutes of arriving. Once seated we were bought drinks and menus and given enough time to decide what we wanted and were not badgered.
We decided on soup to start and steak and chips for our main course.
The soup came with bread and butter and was delicious and the steak came with either chips or boiled/mashed potatoes and vegetables.

The other available starters to us were either stuffed potato skins with cheese and bacon, or a chefs special with changes frequently. Lamb, fish and chicken as well as a vegetarian option were also available for our choice of main course.
All of the food served at dinner was better than I could have expected it to been.

When we ate breakfast we had a choice of, cereal, toast, fresh juices, fresh fruit, tea and coffee as well as our all you could eat cooked breakfast. The cooked breakfast included as much as we wanted of the following, sausages, eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes and beans.
The quality of the food was again excellent and their amount given for each portion was generous.
The usual prices here are £9.95 for a 2 course meal or £11.95 for a 3 course meal and the all you can eat breakfast at £8.95. I cannot remember the exact price of drinks however they were no higher than average.

The staff were polite and helpful on the two occasions we ate here despite being very busy keeping on top of a large restaurant and pub there was always someone close by to help.
I would recommend anyone visting either Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth, Pleasurewood Hills etc to consider here if looking for a place to eat. It is just 2 miles from Lowestoft, 9 from Great Yarmouth and only 1/4 mile from Pleasurwood Hills.

One last thing I will say is that I would advise to book as it does get very busy, especially in the summer being so close to the coast. They can be contacted on 01502 572441. The postcode is NR32 4AA and is located at 249 Yarmouth Road
