The Ice Wharf is a pleasant pub at Camden Lock, the pub overlooks the lock itself and is part of the Lloyds No.1 group which in turn is part of the J.D. Wetherspoons change but is kind of a bit more upmarket and therefore also a little bit more expensive. Maybe in this once slightly different area, it is sad to see chains popping up but the area is a major tourist attraction and it was always bound to happen. The building itself is also pretty ugly, the inside is exactly what you would expect from a modern pub, a large bar with a lot of different drinks available, plenty toilets, plenty plasma screens and comfortable furnishings. Although it was mid November when I visited this pub, it was still ok to sit outside which was an ideal place to watch the world go by and watch the pints sink down! It's not really a place I would like to sit down inside as it's just too bog standard but it's certainly convenient. I've also heard that it can attract a bit of a chavvy clientelle in the evenings, most probably due to the cheap prices and lack of similar places in the vicinity.
