      Very helpful

The Jug and glass pub, restaurant and B&B is located at Queens Walk, Nether Langwith, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire

This idyllic pub and restaurant is surrounded by countryside, farm and wood land, and if this is not enough scenery to make you visit, a stream runs directly outside the pub.

I used to live in Langwith, a small village. So my childhood summers were often spent playing in the pubs stream, eating cheese and onion crisps and drinking panda pops, the landlord even gave us kid's chocolate finger biscuits for helping collect glasses.
I know this sounds very idyllic but when I moved away at the age of twelve, I had very happy memories of the village and especially this beautiful pub.
When I moved back near Langwith, to Mansfield, now as a wife and mother, I was eager to revisit and I was not disappointed. Now I had my own money and was legal to actually go inside and buy a meal and a pint!

My first return was for my husbands birthday where we booked a seat in the evening in the cosy bar area, bustling with cheery locals. Even though we was early we was seated straight away, drinks arrived quickly while we browsed the menu, which is mostly pub classic grub.
I decided to order the homemade steak pie, with chips and veggies, while my husband ordered a gammon steak with eggs, salad and chips.
The food arrived in about 20 minutes which may seem long to some but the food is all homemade and made to order.
My steak pie was absolutely gorgeous with melt in the mouth pastry and large chunks of lean tender steak in rich beefy gravy, the chips were homemade not frozen then fried like lots of other pubs and restaurants, and the carrots and broccoli were perfectly cooked not the usual overcooked mush you usually get.
My hubby's gammon {which I did steal a bite or two},a lean tender juicy steak, topped with fried eggs, again homemade chips and a salad which consisted of lettuce, tomato, cucumber and white onion. Even thought it was the usual bog standard side salad it was fresh and crisp and certainly not been stood to wilt all day, bearing in mind it was now almost 7pm. Both meals were very generous portions and cost about £6-9 each.

Our second visit was with our son and my in-laws for a Sunday lunch. We booked two
Weeks in advance and it's well recommended that you do book as it seems everyone in Langwith has there Sunday lunch there.
Again waiting for a table was a little longer, so we brought our drinks and sat outside to enjoy the stream and the sun.
After 20 minutes we were seated and given our menus and we all ordered the beef roast, which arrived about 25 minutes later. The portions were again very generous with thick tender slices of beef, Yorkshire pudding, crispy roast potatoes, new potatoes, carrots, cabbage and thick meaty gravy. I was surprised to find even though the place was packed with diners everything was cooked well and tasted fresh. Even thought this was about a year ago I think this cost £6 -7 per adults meal and about £3-4 for a childs.
Even though our belts were bursting we all had a dessert of toffee lumpy bumpy and single cream, which now is my favourite dessert of all time.
We finished our day sitting enjoying a drink on a bench by the stream with my son paddling with little fishes.

I can't personally comment on the B&B accommodation as I don't have much excuse to stay because I only live 20 miles away, but if it's as good as everything else you won't be disappointed.
