Where its based
On walking into the pub
When you walk in you have to turn left to get to the main room, this is quite a large room, which has lots of seating area all round the outside of the pub. on one side of the pub is all the seating area then on the right hand side is the bar which goes all the way round the pub, at the bar they also have quite a few seats so you can prop the bar up, or just take a seat while you are waiting to get served.
At the top end of the pub you have like a small stage which also has a table there which is where all the entertainment equipment is set up, then to your right of that there is another large corner that is filled with seating areas. The middle of the floor is quite empty with no seats which leaves plenty of room to be able to move about or to dance. This does not really make any difference to the pub as they do not need seating areas there as there is plenty of seats already.
To the left of the DJ box there the gents toilets and to the right there is the ladies toilets. The pub is well laid out and is easy to navigate your way around. And has plenty of space to move about without getting knocked around all over.
I normally have been to visit this pub on a Thursday night on on this night they have a Karaoke on, I did used to only go because I knew the bloke who did the Karaoke and he was a good friend. The pub never really got busy but I usually have a good time, I know that on the weekend they do have a disco on but I have never bothered going in on them nights.
The staff are nice and friendly and I get on very well with them, as the pub did not get too busy they always had time for a nice chat and would always strike up conversations with you. They always made me feel welcome into the pub and made me want to stay there for the night. They always served me quick also but that was probably because normally it was pretty quiet in there.
For a pint of cider I would pay £2.70 and for a pint of lager it was £2.60, quite reasonable compared to some pubs I have been in.
The toilets have always been really clean and nice smelling and are always well stocked up with toilet roll. When I have been in the pub I have seen the staff go to check on the toilets several times a night, which I like because it shows that they will always make sure they are clean. I have never had to queue in here even though they do only have two cubicles as they are never busy when I have been in, but I do presume that on a busy night you may have a small queue.
Suitable for disabled
There is a small step to get into the pub, the pub has plenty of space to move around but there is no disabled toilets so for them reasons it is not really suitable.
Why you may like it
Not bad prices
Why you may not like it
Maybe too quiet
Not wheelchair friendly
My overall opinion
I do like it in this pub, it has everything a good pub should have, the beer is not too over priced, the staff are great and they have decent entertainment on. The only thing the pub lacks is customers, I would think the pub would get more busy with it been based on a busy road, but there are only a handful of people in there when I have been in. I still have a good night though and I always have someone in there to talk to. I would recommend it to anyone to go in and have a few drinks
