This was once a superb place to eat when under the Chef and Brewer banner. We were there one Monday lunchtime, I ordered the fish pie. After an extensive wait I was served with meat pie. On taking it back my husband had to wait for the manager to finish his conversation with another member of staff and then he was virtually accused of lying and that I had ordered the pie of the day which was meat. There was no apology. On getting the fish pie I wish I had stayed with the meat pie. There was very little fish topped with a big portion of potato. Whereas I used to recommend this place to friends I never will again. A truly horrible experience and sad to see the demise of a fine eating place. No stars. Advantage a nice garden.

I had a terrible experience there today at lunchtime. We waited 25 minutes for 3 sandwiches with an appauling attitude from staff, no apology, no gesture to put it right and the food was awful. My cat could have made a better sandwich. The deli sandwich was the same as the doorstep sandwich - 2 pieces of plain bread with an apology of a filling - 80% bread and 20% filling. The chips were overcooked and all little crispy bits - I only saw one full size chip in the bowl.I paid over £18 for this dubious experience.
