we have been to the Royal Oak many times in the past year. The location is wonderful but unfortunately the service is poor and the quality of food is erratic. At times the starters have been barely defrosted and once they totally forgot about us and the kitchen closed. Not a place I would visit in a hurry particularly if I want to be assured of a pleasant evening. Many of our neighbours have had a similar experience.
