Advantages: Plenty of space good menu discount off drinks and good music.

Disadvantages: When food orders dont turn up.

Over the years I have been to the Varsity in York for a drink at lunchtime or the startpoint for a night out.It is a very spacious establishment and they serve really nice food and you can get drinks at a cheaper price with a Varsity Card to make the drinks taste that bit nicer.On warmer days you sit at the back in the Beer Garden but i the winter it is better to keep inside.

Upstairs they have different sets of couches and chairs so that different numbers of people can sit down unwind and then socialise.If it is rather busy upstairs or you are unable to get served then you can always venture downstairs where there is again plenty of space and lots of sofa`s and seats so you are made to feel comfortable.

I would say my best experience at Varsity was when with work I went there with my colleagues for a Christmas Night Out and for me the food the drinks the accompaniments were really great and it made for a really enjoyable night out.I would say the worst experience was recently when I ordered some food that never came in an hour of waiting and I got an apology and a refund.

Barring the bad experience I would say to visit this establishment as it does have a lot to offer.

Summary: This bar is good in my opinion and is always a place I like to go to and socialise with friends.
