If you are planning on eating here, place your order several hours (perhaps even the previous day?) before you want to eat. My party ordered Sunday lunch bang on 12.00 noon and several of us finally got served at 1.45pm - nearly 2 hours later. Okay, you shouldn't expect fast food and it was okay when it eventually came, but the barstaff were incompetent, rude and hostile when politely asked what had happened to our orders. So whilst I'd give it 3 stars for the food, I'd take off 2 stars for the crap staff who lack all basics in customer service.

this is the worst pub i have been in forever. We were misfortunate enough to go for sunday lunch and had to wait over an hour and half for food. Staff were very unhelpful and clearly didn't know what they were doing. Dreadful experience

      A pub for all seasons!!!

The Thomas Kemp pub is a fantastic pub in the heart of Kemptown, Brighton. It is an extremely versatile pub as it has roaring fires, cosy couches and candles in the winter. In the summer there is a beer garden out the back and the front of the pub opens out on to the street and you can sit with a cool beer watching the world go by.

There is a wide variety of beers and wine and the menu is contemporary with a moroccon feel to it. The Sunday roast is also very tasty and has chicken, beef, pork, lamb and nutroast. I last tried the sweet potato and red pepper soup and it was the tastiest soup I had ever eaten. So creamy and tasty. I would seriously go back every day for more!

The clientele is mixed as there are different nights, ranging from Rock one night to a DJ spinning a few disks the next! The staff are very friendly and have a nice relaxed attitude.

I highly recommend this pub, whatever the seasaon, as there is something for everyone here!
