Advantages: Spacious & decent priced drinks

Disadvantages: Not the nicest atmosphere

Walkabout is a chain of australian themed sports bars located across a number of UK locations. The Manchester venue is located in the city centre, within walking distance of Deansgate Locks & around a 15-20 minute walk from Picadilly Gardens.

The venue is busiest on Friday & Saturday nights where you can expect to queue in order to get in with the place being open till 3am on both night. There is also a DJ on both these nights playing a selection of chart music allowing you to dance the night away until the early hours.

You normally have to pay around £5 for admission on these nights with it being free for the remainder of the week. Unlike many other venues in Manchester, this place tends to be more dominated by the locals rather than the students.

The place is quite spacious with reasonly priced drinks. You can get even cheaper drinks by getting your hands on one of their loyalty cards. However I have noticed that the atmosphere isn't always a friendly one, in fact I've spotted fights occuring numerous times in the past.

I've visited this venue in the past on a number of occasions however because of the volatile atmosphere, I think there are better drinking establishments in Manchester.
