Disadvantages: not the best environment

Last night I met my friend in our local Wetherspoons for tea. This wouldn't usually be my first choice of place to eat, however the big sign in the window advertising Tuesdays steak night - steak and a drink for £5.59!

I ordered gammon and my friend the rump steak. They were brought out to us in a reasonable time and were piping hot. The food was nice, nothing special but I didn't expect it to be for the price.

On the menu there is a wide variety of foods from simple jacket spuds to carbanara. People around us had an assortment of dishes that all looked very nice. The menu clearly marks which dishes are less than 5%, very helpful if you are trying to be good. They also clearly mark next to the vegetarian dishes. On the website I noticed that they are advertising a gluten free menu, although these menus were not laid on the tables, but its good to know so at least you can request it. The website also informed me that they do a breakfast menu which looks really tasty and yet again great value for money.

Most weatherspoons I have been in have the same sort of feel to them. The cheap drink offers attracts a certain type of clientele and the tables always seem to feel sticky! Although I enjoyed my meal last night, and I will probably go again if I am wanting a quick meet up, meal and chat. I wouldn't go there for anything special such as a birthday celebration.

Summary: If you want a cheap, quick meal Wetherspoons is your place!
