When we bought our Bugaboo Chameleon pushchair about four years ago now we also got the underseat bag to go with it. I can't remember whether this bag came with the pushchair or whether we had to pay extra for it but given that you can buy it as a separate item I am assuming that we had to pay extra for it and judging by the way Bugaboo like their added extras I think it probably was. Anyway it was well worth the investment as its something I use everyday and would be a bit lost without it ont he pushchair. This bag is really the only item of storage you have on this pushchair. You can hang a bag from the little brake hook on the side but that makes the pushchair a bit lopsided and you can also hang something over the bar but as this is a complete bar its not as easy as it is on pushchairs with two handles so I prefer to put my bag/coats/food/drinks in this bag. We bought our pushchair fabric and this bag in the denim material so its a nice denim design on the outside and underneath and in the middle it is just plain black. The bag fits really easily under the pushchair and attaches to the chassis with four velcro loops. This are very hard and hang onto the pushchair really well as in all the years we have had this pushchair I have never had to reattach this bag because its fallen off and I usually put loads of heavy items in this bag. In order to attach you must make sure that the Bugaboo logo is facing behind but once you get it the right way it is easy to see how it attaches on. The bag hangs in an arch so it hangs nicely under the pushchair and holds things really well. What I like about it is that you can put things in from the front of the pushchair or the back so wherever you are standing you can easily put something in or take something out. Most times when I use this bag I just leave it open but you can pull the sides up and pull the elastic drawstring to close the bag so if I have something important in there that I really don't want to lose I do this and I feel it is more protected like that. The bag is really strong. If I do my shopping with the pushchair I put the milk/orange juice and heavy items like that in the bottom and it holds really well. According to the information on the bag it will hold up to 4kg/88lbs so that is a lot of stuff! What's great about the bag also is that you don't need to remove it when you fold the pushchair up to put it away. The bag folds with the pushchair too and is not misshaped in anyway when you do this. I usually take most things out but sometimes I do leave coats etc in there and they are packed away fine too, if a bit crumpled when they come out again. All in all, a necessity in my opinion if you have this pushchair!
Bugaboo Cameleon under seat bag It was hard to imagine or at least it was for me that someday topics like nappies and prams would have my full attention never mind have me riveted. But they do and I am more than happy to talk at length about most baby related matters to anyone who will listen, and I am sure that by now most of my friends and family are tired of hearing about how much I love my Bugaboo Cameleon, but I do, it is a stylish and practical pram. When you use the Bugaboo Cameleon there really is no doubt that an awful lot of time, attention and detail went into designing it, that's why I don't quite understand the reasoning behind their choice of under seat basket. In my opinion the Bugaboo Cameleon under seat bag is maybe a little of too much style over any real substance and practicality. The under seat bag can hold approximately 4 kg, which in real terms means I usually find that the bag has space for a changing bag (only flat messenger shaped bags) and some additional items such as a blanket, etc. I have found that it does manage to hold more or less what I would expect it to hold, but my one complaint is that it's an odd shape. It has a rounded shape which does mean that often a lot of items including the changing bag I prefer to use just won't fit in and retrieving items that are in the basket out can a bit of a pain. The under seat bag is also closed by using a set of drawstrings, which again are a bit of a nuisance and do take far longer to use than say a zip or poppers would, I also find it difficult to fully close the under seat bag which does mean in harsher weather the items inside can get wet. If I'm honest I neither hate nor love the bugaboo bag and it would be nice to have a couple of options to perhaps choose from. The bugaboo prams are expensive and I just feel a little let down by the under seat bag component - but not near enough to ever think about parting with my much loved bugaboo. As far as I am aware the bugaboo bag's do come in a very limited choice of colours - mostly the same as the base colours of the bugaboo - dark grey, black or brown. Again it's not a bad thing but with bugaboo advertising tailor made bugaboos with the choice of choosing your own colour of fabric highlights it would be nice to see more of a colour choice available for the under seat basket. You can purchase a replacement Bugaboo Cameleon under seat bag from most stores that sell Bugaboo items (i.e., Mothercare, John Lewis, etc, ect) for around £40. Also although the under seat bag has been designed for the Bugaboo Cameleon I am sure that if you really wanted it might fit under some other pram frames because it is attached to the frame by poppers. Overall, the Bugaboo Cameleon under seat bag serves a purpose and I personally neither love nor hate it - three out of five stars.
