“ Brand: Chicco / Number of Seats: Single Seat / Type: Storm Cover „
When I was due to have my first baby I was really grateful for all the hand me downs from family. One if the hand me downs was the Chicco trio. FANTASTIC not only did I not have the hassle of being overwhelmed by all the designs in the shops I also had it free!!
The Chicco trio comes with every thing I needed, it comes with the chaise which is the pushchair, care sear which attaches on to the chaises, carry cot which attaches to the chaises, changing bag & rain cover for the push chair.
The carry cot is great it attaches with ease to the chaise with an easy Click Clank system. You need to make sure the pushchair seat is lying flat, then line the metal bars and Click Clank it's attached.
There is a wheel under the head of the cot allowing the head area of the carry cot to be raised or lowered even with the baby in there.
Inside the carry cot is a lining which is padded and can be easily removed for washing and re attaches with poppers.
The hood is sturdy pulls up nice and high to prevent sun glare, and there is even a little sun visor which pulls down.
Covering over the main part of it is a cover which keeps out wind and retains heat, also removes very easily
I have used this carry cot for overnight sleep on many occasions when we have not been at home and it is more than adequate. He slept very well in here.
You can use the carry cot from birth till approximately 6 months old.
The cared seat is suitable from birth up to 13kg (approximately 12/15 months of age) and is a rear facing 3 point harness. The harness length can easily be changed with or with out your baby in it by pulling the harness strap which comes out at the lower end of the seat.
It appears to keep my baby comfy with the padded head rest but it was lacking the shoulder pads when I set it up but I brought them of Amazon for £4.00.
The car seat also fits on to the chaise in the Click Clank fashion.
We have a Vauxhall Signum and it is very easy to fit in to that as the rear seat belt has plenty of length and give but in my parents Mitsubishi Carisma the seat belt seems to have a locking device and JUST about goes around the car seat. In both cars though the car seat sits firmly and nice and secure. A word of warning - "Check it fits in to your car before purchasing"
I have just started using the push chair and my son is 9 weeks old but it is suitable from birth - the reason I didn't use from birth was he looked so tiny in the pushchair and just seemed more suitable to push him round in the carry cot.
The pushchair seat is padded all over so no plastic is showing and is double padded to offer extra support and comfort. The backrest can be adjusted into 5 positions with lifting a handle on the back of the back rest - which is great for moments when your little one falls asleep. Also it is advised babies do not lie upright for too long as it can hinder the development of there spine. But lying flat on there back can cause flat head syndrome (where the back of there head goes flat from lying on it so this pushchair has an insert cushion which helps positioning to prevent this.
There is a 5 point harness in the pram so you can be confident your baby is secure and they clip together round the legs and over the shoulders.
The chaise frame makes up the pushchair but I thought I would write a separate section on this as it has some great functions which can be used on the carry cot, car seat & push chair.
To unfold squeeze the triggers just below the handle and use your foot on the foot rest to open the frame out. It will then click into place.
To fold up lift a handle at the back of the frame, squeeze the triggers and push handles together, it then lock in place and is folded for minimal storage.
When the frame is folded and stood up it takes up about 1 square foot and sits about 3.5ft tall.
The handles are a good height I'm 5ft 8in & my husband 6ft 1in and find it very comfortable to push. The handles have grippes and are slightly curved for comfy pushing and can be twisted into 8 different positions by pressing a grey button to enable position change.
The frame is reasonable light and the steering is excellent. The front wheels swivel completely and the pram has full suspension which assists when I have had to push the pram up steps or over grass.
The breaks are secure and easy to apply you just press on a peddle on the rear wheels and to release kick, the peddle up.
Unfolded dimensions: L46xW41xH96cm
Chicco Trio Cost - approx. £250
What a great 3 in 1 push travel system. I would highly recommend if you require all 3 and feel its great value for money. This has with stood 1 child now my child is using it and once he has finished I feel it will still be in good enough condition to use for my next.
This product is well designed, practical and really thought through.
Hope this has been of some use.
~ I sold this on ebay for £150 so it also has a great re-sale value
this pram is brilliant it comes with carrycot, carseat, base, pushchair seat, raincover and change bag.
carrycot features: the carrycot has a adjustable wheel at the back so you can adjust the height of the carrycot.also has quiet folding hood which means it won't wake baby up.it also has a sturdy carry handle.it clips easily onto the chassis
pushchair seat:the pushchair seat is easily attached when your baby is too big for the carrycot.it has a four position recline and is also suitable from birth.there is an adjustable leg rest and again a hood with a window at the back to keep an eye on baby.it has a 5 point harness so very safe.there is also a bumper bar which is easily removed if needed
carseat:the carseat has a soft padded insert for when baby is really small so they will be very comfortable, also has a hood.the base is easy to install into the car.the carseat clips easily onto the chassis great for when baby has fallen asleep in the car and you don't want to disturb them.
chassis:this is very lightweight and folds up small very sturdy.it also has swivel wheels and handles that can be adjusted into different positions.
this is a great all round pram that will take you from birth up untill your child finds its feet and wants to start walking everywhere like mine does.
I love this travel system. It comes with the stroller ,carrycot, car seat & base,Change bag & rain wear.
The pushair itself is suitable from birth. It feels very sturdy but is light weight & after playing with alot of other buggies,it folds up smaller that any other ive seen. Its got 4 recline positions so is very comfy. The handle twist round for the perfect pushing position & the shopping basket is a good size & easy to get to.
The carry cot is a good size & will last baby alot longer than most other makes ive seen & clips on the top of the buggy with ease.It has anti slip carry handles & the hood folds back quietly so not to disturb your sleeping bundle of joy.
Lastly, the car seat has a new born insert for added support with i found brill & with the car seat base makes it very easy to get in & out of the car.Again it clips onto the chassey with ease & makes transfering baby from car to buggy really simple. The only miner niggle is that the change bag that comes with it is alittle small for all the rubbish us mother tend to lug round but hey that is a small price to pay .The rest of it is brilliant & i'd recommend it to any one!!
